Oliver Kwek, currently a graduate of Temasek Junior College, Singapore. Indeed, I'm still a young lad who will continue to face greater life challenges ahead of me but hey, my life so far aint' that boring you know. While my life may not be as interesting as yours or I may not be as sociable as you do, I'm thankful for what i have, who I know and who I am. To me, a fantastic blog is something which I can bring some inspirations home or perhaps even some lessons about life that we should really acknowledge. A blogskin is merely a skin, literally. What's more important is the soul or the points that the blog has to bring across. It's meaningless to blog if you don't keep them eventually, cause a blog may be a memoir of your life, or a memory down the lane, as cliche as it sounds huh.

Uncle O' dropped by @8:20 PM

I know that my blog has been stagnant for a while. The reason for that is that I haven't really got the time (though I'm having my good break of holidays now) to sit down and think about the topics that I'm gonna blog about. I decided to drop upon here today in a way to recall the things that I have pretty much gone through the past few weeks. So here goes!

1. Gatherings

Had a BBQ Gathering at Sok yee's House (26th March 2011, Sat) with some of my 4e1 classmates and we celebrated Sok's birthday there too. Pretty much talking about the old days, A levels, the paths that we are heading and such. Other than that, most of it was cooking the food, fanning and adding more charcoals, waiting for my dear chicken wings to be roasted (at least in the edible state) and holding to my phone which was shining a sparkle of light to the barbecue pit in the pitch of darkness.

Darwin came back from London to Singapore during his term break and 11 of 4e1 peeps gathered for dinner at Waraku at Marina Square (30th March 2011, Wed). My first time there and i would say that it's pretty much okay actually, in terms of the food and stuff. A very much different setting that I have been to for restaurant outlets since we were given a room for 10 people. It would have been better if I got to know that I needed to take off my shoes, since taking off my converse sneakers with double shoelaces was a big hassle when I had to go to the toilet.

I had another mini gathering with my CO sectionmates at Popeyes in Bedok Point (6th April 2011, Wed). Mainly about the times in CO and in TJ. Speaking of that, I do miss the fun times I had as a student back then in TJ.

Celebrated Cally's birthday at Swensens in Marina Square (11th April, Mon) with a few others of 4e1 peeps. It's been a long while since I ate Swensens ice-cream though I know that it is rather sinful to do so at this time haha.

I had another class chalet with 12/09 classmates at Coasta Sand's (Pasir Ris) (14th April 2011, Thu to 15th April 2011, Fri). My first chalet in my life so far and we had a BBQ session for dinner. This time round, I'm felt great because I managed to cook chicken wings which were really edible and fully cooked. You know, most people would like to cook other food like otah, sausages and satays, etc. For me, I find cooking chicken wings a challenge which I like =). It's great this time round that 4/5 of the class came for the chalet and meeting each and every single one of them, having a real nice chat with them since it has really been a while since our class came as a whole after the A' levels. Hope to see them again soon, really.

I've watched another movie for this year - The Roommate - with John and Zhao Ying (29th April 2011, Fri). I wouldn't say it's totally nice but out of 5 stars, I would give like probably around 3 stars for the movie? I don't think that it's easy to find good psychological thrillers since it's not easy to make such films. But oh well, at least I managed to get the storyline since there were so many girls in the film that I really tried my best to make sure that I could differentiate them throughout the movie. The film was kind of like an appropriate juncture for us to watch since the girls are going to university soon and they will meet a roommate if they live in hostels, residences, halls or whatever you call it. For the guys going into army, there's a buddy system there so yup. Imagine having a psychopathic roommate who checks on you every single moment and gets rid of everyone around you so as to be friends with you, creepy huh?

2. Runs

When my teaching internship ended, I joined some of my peers from 12/09 on a weekly run at Bedok Reservoir and go out to play after that. I find it nice as a form of gathering where I still keep in contact with my classmates (and the outside world if exaggeration comes in) and have fun while I still can. We did things like pool, karaoke at Teo heng, LAN (and actually, that's my first LAN session so far). Nice activities to spend off my Saturdays and I would say it has made my holidays interesting for all this while.

3. The next step in life

Currently, I'm still deciding between the courses offered by the two universities (NUS and NTU) for my university education and I think I'm gonna make up my choice soon while I have the time to, before I get busy next week after enlisting into the army. Tough choices but I'm grateful that I have them since going into university these days isn't that easy after all.

4. A little food for thought

I came across this statement from one of my friends on facebook and I found it interesting and I want to share it with you. I kind of edited the statement so that it sounds nicer.

"Parallel lines have a lot in common, but they never meet. For every other pair of straight lines that intersect, they meet only once and then drifts apart from one another, forever."

Well, it sounds kind of nerdy, probably because of my editing. =P Anyway, the part about intersecting lines did made me think about it as I have never realised it in the first place.

Adios.
