September 2010:16. Out to Cycling after Prelims - 24th September 2010The title says it all. Its been a while since I cycled in April 2010. The main reason I'm recounting on this event is because I think it the first time that I cycled with other 13 people at the same time. 14 out of 24 people in CG12/09 came to cycle man! While we wanted to cycle from ECP all the way to Changi, we didn't managed to complete main due to the fact that some of us were too slow and the waiting time for each other were too long resulting in us being unable to reach there in time. Nevertheless, it is awesome overall being able to have time with hang out with classmates, like you know, chill and relax especially after exams. How great is that man.
October 2010:17. JC2 Farewell Concert 2010 - 25th October 2010This is the day I graduated from TJC. All in all, I feel fortunate to have been accepted into TJC and I had an experience which is one of a kind. Being in TJC has taught me a vast knowledge which I have never been exposed to and I'm grateful for this. It was nice to watch the varied performances by the tutors although my class got separated during the performance at the Auditorium. Someday, I shall have a post dedicated to TJC. It would unfair to just write about my life in TJC in just one paragraph.
December 2010:18. Standard Chartered Marathon 2010 - 4th December 2010 to 5th December 2010Once again, my 3rd consecutive year in volunteering at Standard Chartered Marathon. This time round, the experience is totally different since I helped out at the race day and the event venue before the race day rather than the Race Entry Pack Collection.
Volunteering at 4th December 2010 required my friends and I to help relay boxes of runner's tee to a tent and at the same, my converse sneakers got soiled terribly but the mud at the Padang. Gosh, got drenched in the morning at the same time and my shoes were soiled. Nevertheless, my shoes are now washed and back to shape, although it doesn't look as new as before. Plus, I bought a polo tee from G2000 @ 18 bucks haha.
I had to report to F1 Pit with my friends at 00:00 to report for another volunteer work as Route Marshall for the race day. Ate food, sat under the dark blue sky, playing taboo with my friends till we were deployed. Eventually, my friends and I became Key Junction Crew instead and I only knew that from another volunteer only when it was almost noon. It's nice to stand along the road like no one's business and I managed to last throughout the night without feeling sleepy even though I slept only like 1 hour on 4th December. While I was supposed to cheer for the runners, I blew the whistle and flew the red flag they gave us instead since it was kinda of embarrassing to say things like "way to go!", "come on! you can do it!" which gives people the creeps. Being a key junction crew was nice because at the start, you see the full marathon runners passing by and in the later morning, the route for the 10km run, half and full marathon are merged together, meaning that we would expect to see everyone coming back. That's good but what is bad is that we have to wait for the last person to go past my station before we can end our job. As such, I only ended my work at around 1pm plus. By the end of the day, it was 100% fatigue. All in all, the whole experience is awesome though it was very tiring.
19. Universal Studios Singapore (USS) & MOE Interview - 7th December 2010My first time @ USS and it's 100% awesomeness! Tried on the different thrilling rides and I must say that it is like 'shiok"! Well, it was a great decision to have skipped Prom Night and gone for this instead! You should try it someday yourself and I shan't be spoil your 1st experience for you.
I signed up to be a teaching intern at MOE and I passed my interview! Currently, I'm posted to Coral Secondary School together with John. Plus, I have lost touch with my O' level Chemistry and Lower Sec Science (LSS), so I need to read up quickly since I am starting in Jan 10 2011. More updates soon!
20. 4e1 Gathering 2010 - 9th December 2010
Yes, our annual gathering with the usual people and of course, we definitely enjoyed our Mahjong Session @ Jesslyn's house, the highlight of the day! =) Oh and I won 3 rounds! =)
21. Bowling - 16th December 2010My 1st bowling session of the year after I learnt how to bowl during last year's elective programme as part of the Sports Carnival at TJC. God, I totally suck at bowling now since many of the throw were into the gutter.
22. Christmas Countdown 2010 - 24th December 2010This year's Christmas countdown is awesome! It has been quite long since I went out on Christmas's Eve and I totally enjoyed it! Plus, it's the 1st time I played poker and bridge and Chinese chess along some walkway at ECP. Unique? Haha. My second time at Fish&C0. and I totally liked it! No more Coriander Spaghetti like the 1st time there haha, to think I can still remember its name.
Had fun when we celebrating Zong Yang's birthday in advance at Fish&Co. plus all the pranks on zong yang that day, although I didn't managed to see the moment that Zong Yang got thrown into the water.
The last thing was the exchange of presents, or rather a lucky draw I would say. I gave a Donald Duck Bolster and I received a Monopoly Deal, though I have one at home already. Nevertheless, it is still something that is mine, haha.
23. Stayover at Cousin's House and A trip to the Dog Farm - 21st December 2010 to 23rd December 2010As usual, I went over my cousin's house to stay. We went swimming but the sad thing was that 18 years old and above had to pay the adult fee and I am only 18 years old for like 2 months only??? If only I had came earlier to swim. Plus I ate the Ramly Burger at the Pasar Malam near Tampines MRT Station, how cool is that.
I went to a dog farm during one of these days and it's awesome to been in contact with like 50+ dogs, those in cages and those free-roaming ones. I managed to see a 3-day old puppy with my very own eyes and I feel so lucky because one of aunties working there told me that it's very rare to see newborn puppies, especially those which are only a few days old.
I had a very special experience with dogs this time round! I had the opportunity to help a puppy dry itself after bathing, combing its hair and hugging it around like its mine. Though its just a size of a hand, it is priced at around $2000. I carried one which was sold at $2800, how fortunate am I. =D
In addition, I felt like I was working in a place selling dogs because I helped my cousin to put the display dogs into the cages where customers could view, something like a gallery. Chiwawa, maltese, yogey, poodle, sausage dogs, you name it, the farm has it. Alright, I'm just exaggerating.
Lastly, with the Maltese named 吉祥 at my aunt's house, I definitely enjoyed spending time with it since it looked like it liked me a lot. But the other dogs like Xavier is still cute, though it gain much more weight for me to carry now.
24. An Outing to the Southern Ridges - 29th December 2010The 2nd last event for the year 2010 in my life and it is 100% nice excursion out there to nature!
Alright, I think I'll dedicate one post to it soon so I'll keep you inform of it the next time?
25. The New Year Countdown - 31st December 2010My first ever countdown with friends in my life! Never experienced it before and I'm surely looking forward to it later! I'll update you guys about this soon k?
All in all, 2010 has been a very very special year to me and perhaps to you too. I have enjoyed living through 2010, I hope you did too! All the best for the new year ahead! Happy New Year!

July 201012. Last Mass P.E. Lesson of the Year 2010 - 13th July 2010Final mass P.E. lesson of the year and after that, no more P.E. lessons for me in TJC. It came to me that only in TJC, P.E. lesson is really P.E., where you really run long distances and train and sweat. Compared to those lesson in primary and secondary school, they are much more slack to the extent that you don't sweat at all sometimes after lessons.
More or less P.E. lessons here have taught me about really being healthy and run, since in secondary school, I practically don't run on my own during off-school periods. At the very least, I do go for runs now and then even though I tend to procrastinate them.
Plus, I think the most memorable thing about P.E. is the P.E. teacher Mr. Goh, together with his favourite pet phrases (in his own epic tone) like "How many?" (especially when we are doing push-ups or sit-ups) and something like "We run together, we work hard together and we sweat together" (when he does a briefing or debrief). I promise, I'll continue to run to keep myself healthy. =)
13. P.E. Elective Programme: Archery - 14th July 2010This elective programme was an one-off programme and it also marks the end of the last group P.E. lesson of the year 2010. Last year's P.E. Elective was tennis and this time round is Archery! The previous time I played archery was sec 3 camp, when I used one for the left-handed. This time round, there wasn't any left-handed bows available, so I had the use the right-handed bow. Got used to the right-handed bow and now it feels weird to be using the left-handed bow. Okay i shall stop this discussion about left-handed and right-handed bows.
Hitting bull's eye isn't some easy feat you know! Took quite a shots to know that I need to literally aim, cause' I ain't aiming when I thought I was. At the end of the lesson, we had this mini competition between the different groups and my group won the game man! 58 shots in 3 rounds!
14. National Day Celebration in TJC - 6th August 2010This year's national day celebration is more or less like last year's, when we assemble at the parade square in the morning and then move on to the hall for celebration. I think quite a few of my classmates skipped National Day Celebration in school this time round. But what I could remember about this day was that we had fun making fun of Zong Yang during National Day Celebration in the hall, like singing to him and stuff.
15. Teachers' Day Celebration - 31th August 2010Similar to National Day Celebration, many of my classmates skipped this day and the small population of us were in the classroom having the party. The classroom was so big and we only only occupied like one-fifth of it? Haha nevertheless it was still fun going around to find our different tutors to give them the teachers' day cards with wishes from all of us. Oh and credits to Lian Ping for preparing those cards for everyone to pen down their words to each tutor a few days before Teachers' Day Celebration.

April 2010:7. Track & Field Meet 2010 - 1st April 2010Yes, they call this date April Fool's Day. At this event, I signed up to be an official, since Delta House Comm. members asked me to. The experience was similar to the one I had when I became an official for my primary school's Sports Day. I mean like more or less all Track & Field Meets are the same. Oh and Delta House won for cheerleading! Congrats to Che Xuan for being the Sportsman of the Year! You did our House proud and our class too! Alright, I guess I shall not bore you with those nitty-gritty details.
May 2010:8. College Clean-up - 12th May 2010My one and only college clean-up in TJC, and it was fun overall. I can still remember that I skipped the full-dress rehearsal for College Day because I'd rather go clean up some classrooms and not waste my time being in full uniform and wait till I rot. Yup, plus the full-dress rehearsal was held at the Auditorium, a stone's throw away from the Seminar Room my class was assigned to. Luckily, I didn't get spotted and when I went back to the CO room, they haven't even start performing at all, so I would say that it's an win-win situation for me, since I experienced being in college clean-up and I was still in time for my CO rehearsal after that. Phew.
Seminar rooms at the Auditorium were always that cold during those times when I had my Chinese lessons held there, seeing everyone shifting their chairs just to evade themselves from the powerful air-con. Well, we could have turn the temperature up if not for the fact that the remote control is nowhere to be found in the classroom.
Lastly, as always, my civics tutor was MIA.
9. Mardi Gras - 27th May 2010A biennial Arts Festival in TJC and I would say that it is rather fun, given the times spent in CO before performing and the times spent with other section members in TJCO. It's like eye-opener to have around 5 different performances going on at the same time around the college and you have the option to watch either one or don't watch at all. Plus, there was an opportunity for everyone to dress up according to the theme, which I think was some like fairytale related this time round? Yeah, and this Mardi Gras is the only one that I would have through my time in TJC, though one disappointing fact would be that no customised shirt for Mardi Gras was sold this time round.
10. Dizi Outing - 28th May 2010Our one and only section outing for this year and it's been awesome! Though we didn't do much other than eating at the Sakura outlet near Plaza Singapura and going to Fort Canning Park for a walk, its was fun to have enjoyed the time with the Dizi people around. Perhaps the reason I would miss CO sometimes would be the people that I know there, all the funny moments we've been through and the rough times that we had to clench our teeth and move on. I'm feel blessed for staying in CO and not going on to other PDPs instead since I've made friends whom brightened my life in TJC.
11. Avant Garde - 29th May 2010
The final CO concert that I have in TJC and I believe this would perhaps be the last time I would perform as a musician again. Concert day is always full of thrill and it is always the event that pass the fastest. Fun always makes you forget about time. Forget the scolding by the conductor during rehearsal and other hiccups, performing in CO with other dizi members was awesome I would say and its something I would bring with me as I move on to the next stage of my life. You know, in a concert, being an audience and being a performer is totally 2 different things. As a performer, you tend to 'feel' more for the concert and it is definitely more fun than sitting there to watch as an audience, albeit that performing is much much more stressful and requires much alertness than watching one performing. Nevertheless, I'm grateful to be able to experience both sides.
TJCO - a place which I didn't knew I would go and I would say it is perhaps an unexpected twist in my life that I end up there. At the start, I really hated myself for joining CO because I really wanted to join TJCSB at that time. Plus, at that time, I already knew people from TJSCB so I felt much comfortable with TJCSB than TJCO. To top it all, TJCO was more 'cheena' compared to TJCSB, so I didn't like TJCO albeit that I came from CO before. Sometimes, I even thought of quitting TJCO and joining some other club and societies like LEO Club at the end of year 1. However, given my laziness, I was disgusted by the slow and troublesome process of quitting a PDP (i.e. CCA) and joining another. So, coupled with procrastination, I just ended up staying in TJCO.
Year 2 of being in TJCO was actually more fun than I expected it to, since I met more new juniors and dizi was merged with percussion together with suona and sheng, making life in TJCO much more fun. Though my conductor didn't really like me (as always), sometimes being in TJCO really taught me to bear with things or what they call "忍" in Chinese. Eventually, I'm comfortable with TJCO as I've got used to the life there even though I may not know everyone in TJCO till today. If given a chance to choose all over again, I would choose to go TJCO and experience the same things that I've went through in my 2 years there, be it whether those experiences suck or rock. Being in TJCO was a blessing in disguise I would say, and I'm grateful for the fact that I was from TJCO, not some other PDP in TJC.

January 2010:1. Orientation X 2010 - 28th Jan 2010 to 5th Feb 2010
This could perhaps be one of most memorable event I've experienced in TJC. Being a facilitator, or an Orientation Group Leader (OGL) instead of an Orientation Group Member (OGM), how cool is that! This year's orientation is the longest throughout TJC's history and I believe it is the first time they allowed water games during orientation. Its nice to have taken part in those mass dances, games and stuff. Plus, the most awesome thing is that you don't play the game, the OGMs do. Haha I believe I have been rather slack as an OGL since I don't really have much responsibilities other than having to cheer at the Auditorium and helping those freshmen to bond. Oh, and my House's name during Orientation was X.ON and I was in OG4, which was selected to perform for the House during Orientation Night! Alright, as you can see, this event was like 11 months ago and with my 2GB mind, I don't think I'm able to recount that much you know. But overall, being an OGL was awesome and I'm happy to be able to contribute something to Delta House before leaving the school this year.

X.ON!

OG4 OGLs!

Babooscary!

With other OGLs

Mass Dance @ Suntec!

With other OGLs!

O'Night!
February 2010 2. Go Green Day - 6th Feb 2010This event could be defined as an outreach to the community by TJC, where members of TJC help to raise donations through collection of newspapers, etc. Plus, this event was in conjunction with Orientation X 2010 but I wasn't selected to go with my OG but with my class, which was still fun! Let me recall, other than the 豆浆油条
(i.e. dough sticks with soya bean millk) that I ate together with Johan and Lee Ying, what we did was to go house-to-house and ask for recyclables. A portion of my classmates were not around given that they were members of the LEO Club, the so-called "reach club" as defined in other JCs, which organised Go Green Day. While I don't really remember having to do much work, overall, my only Go Green Day in TJC was well spent. =)
3. Friendship Week - 10th Feb 2010 to 19th Feb 2010The main feature of this event is mainly part of the very effort to bond the school community together, like what they always say. So yup, remember the Angels & Mortals game? Being an angel and a mortal, I gave an Hi-Chew to my mortal and I received a lollipop from my angel. There's actually nothing much to this game personally, perhaps it's just the thrill that it gives when you wonder who your angel is and when you act as a mysterious person who dropped from the sky or something. Haha.
4. Road Run And Chinese New Year Celebration 2010 - 12th Feb 2010Both events on a single day! My 1st CNY celebration in TJC was more or less cliche I guess but the nice thing was the Road Run! Actually, during P.E. lessons on Thursday afternoons weeks before the road run, we had to run the Road Run route, excluding the 1st 400m around the track. But oh gosh, on the actual Road Run, I didn't run as well as I did during those P.E. lessons. But its okay, at the very least, I managed to covered around 5km and I believe that's something that I can be proud of for an unfit person like me haha.
A BIG Thank You to the photographer! This is like awesome!
5. Term 1 Swimming Lessons for P.E.TJC has this tradition where J1s from non-sports PDPs have to attend compulsory swimming lessons for a term. However, something went wrong during my first year so I didn't manage to attend swimming lessons in year 1. Instead, I had swimming lessons for Term 1 in my second year. Sigh, I still cannot swim! Its like "argh" but oh well, it looks like I'm fated to be a non-swimmer. Nonetheless, swimming lessons were fun overall, as in having to travel to Bedok Swimming Complex instead of TJC (although it is still Bedok =.=) on Tuesday mornings, skipping those usual P.E runs, still reek of chlorine after P.E. and being able to buy food from outside for breakfast after swimming lessons when your other classmates have to buy the same old food from the school's cafeteria. These experiences are something that the general population from Team Temasek (i.e. the sportsmen and sportswomen from TJC) are unable to have.and lucky me, being able to savage each and every single moment.
March 2010
6. Release of A'level Results (Chinese) - 3rd March 2010And finally on the fateful day - 3/3/10, my 12 years of education in the Chinese language has completed. Chinese lessons over the past 12 years was fun I guess, While Chinese can be a pain in the neck sometimes, I would say that its been fun overall, being able to expose myself to writing argumentative and narratives for my national exams. I can tell you that both my argumentative essay during the O's and my narrative during the A's were perhaps the best Chinese essays (for each type of texts) I have ever written in my life. And I'm proud of it. =)
Plus, its been great to learn under each and every Chinese teacher I've meet in these 12 years, be it whether they taught well or they didn't and be it whether they were friendly, fierce, slack, or always smiling. And till today, I still do admire you teachers, because Chinese has never been an easy subject to teach. While I don't write much Chinese characters this year other than the craps between Zong Yang and I during class, I still do speak Chinese right here right now, since I come from a Chinese-speaking family. Ask me to write my Chinese name and it is still perfectly fine yo! Just one thing to note, my handwriting is ugly, for now, since I don't write much and I don't have to nowadays. All in all, like what Lian Ping told me some few months ago, no more Chinese FTW!

An Introduction for You and Me
Uncle O' dropped by @10:13 PM
Took a long break from blogging and now I'm back, with a new blog. I've been thinking quite long as to whether I should restart blogging. One reason would be the fact that as life gets busier, I tend to have not much time to blog and another would be that most people around me have sort of like stopped blogging. Nonetheless, I've made a comeback so as to speak since it came to me that as I blog, it kinda of trains me to put my thoughts down and as the same time, blogging prevents my sentence structures from becoming like a pot of spaghetti. As such, in my future posts, I promise that I will, at the very least, type my words in proper sentences unlike my previous blog.
To tell ya' the truth, I made a new blog this time round because I wanted a blogskin that shows the title of my blogposts and some images of me or my life to make it more personal. At the same time, I quite liked the blogskin of my previous blog. Hence, I've made a decision to create another blog, yeah like a win-win situation huh. Oh, my previous blog is still available, so fret not! It can be found under Archives below. Just in case you don't know how to navigate around my previous blog, click on post-its for the different categories such as tagboards and links, etc.
Next, I believe you know by now this blog doesn't have a tagboard. Well, as life goes on and I start to develop (more) about my perception of life, it came to me that having it is redundant. So if you really need to contact me or leave a message, drop me an email: @ revilokwek@gmail.com.
And I almost forgot: If you refresh this page continuously, you will realise that different images appear at the top of this blog. I find this feature awesome and for a person who doesn't know a thing about HTML codes, I'm contented.
To top it all, while this blog is specially made for 2011 onwards, you may perhaps wonder why I'm blogging like now. At every start of the year, people make resolutions for the year while at the end of the year, people make reviews of the year. Review, yes, review of 2010 is the answer. So, my next 4 posts will be dedicated to the review of year 2010. Now, I hereby introduce you to my new blog! Happy New Year in advance! Best wishes for the new year!
